We held discussions on privacy related issues of ID and special characteristic of ID in Japan. In the discussions, two distinctive characteristics of privacy of personal data in Japan that are rejection of "centralized control" system symbolized by resident registry network and the fact that people become surprisingly incautious about "convenience and acquaintances" with cellular phone were pointed out.
We came to the conclusion that the possibility for the creation and development of a method of utilizing personal information characteristic to Japan is quite high.
